System requirements
Decky needs macOS 14.0 or later and Screen Recording permission. Decky Display runs on Android 8.0 or later and on macOS, and needs no permissions.
Licences and machines
A licence covers two Macs. The key is checked once on each, which registers it; a third Mac is refused, and support can free a slot. A guest pass lasts fourteen days, one per Mac; when it ends the app reverts to the free version and keeps working.
Known limits, stated plainly
- The connection is not encrypted. Traffic runs over your own cable or your own local network.
- The direct-USB path has been exercised against a small number of tablets. A compatibility list will follow once that is broader.
- There is no automatic updater yet. New versions are downloaded from this site.
- Rooms is built and shipping, but has not yet been exercised on a full room of real hardware.
