Step by step
- On the presenting Mac, use Decky’s Room controls to choose the screen to share and start the Room.
- On each viewing device, open Decky Display on the same network and join using the Room’s six-character code.
- Guests watch the shared screen. To interact, a guest requests control and the host decides whether to allow it.
- On the PC, click the Decky icon in the notification area and find the card headed Share a screen. Pick what to share: a screen, another device’s display or a spare desktop. Choose Start Room. While the Room runs, that card is headed Your Room.
- Read out the Room code, or choose Copy Room code. On each viewing device, open Decky Display on the same network and join with that code.
- Guests watch the shared screen. A control request shows on the PC; choose Allow or Decline. Per viewer, use Give Control, Take Back Control or Remove.
What to know
A Room code grants access to that Room, not permanent trust. A device sharing its screen into a Room is a different action from becoming an extended display. A paired Android device or Windows PC that cannot show the Room’s full picture is offered a smaller one; everyone else keeps the full picture.
A Room hosted on Windows shares one screen at a time; choose another source and Show this screen to switch. App windows, a second source and sound in the Room need Decky on a Mac. If it does not work
If joining fails, confirm the Room is still running and use its current code. Check the local network. There is no published hardware-tested Room capacity or performance guarantee.
