Decky is peer to peer. Your screen goes from your computer, a Mac or a Windows PC, to your own devices over your own cable or your own network. It does not pass through FLOH Solutions, and there is no account to create.
What the apps collect
Decky and Decky Display have no analytics, telemetry or crash-reporting service of their own. No account or sign-in is required in the apps. Screen and input data travel directly between connected devices. TestFlight beta testing is described below.
Testing through TestFlight
When Decky Display is installed through TestFlight, Apple provides crash logs and usage information to Apple and FLOH Solutions. This can include device and operating-system information and app performance. Feedback you choose to submit, including text and screenshots, is also shared with Apple and FLOH Solutions and may contain personal information. FLOH Solutions uses this information to investigate issues and improve the app. Apple processes TestFlight data under its own privacy policy and TestFlight terms. What buying leaves behind
Buying a licence stores three things at FLOH Solutions: the email address used, a reference for the purchase, and a one-way hash identifying each computer the licence was activated on, Mac or Windows. That is the whole record. Payment is taken by a merchant of record, so card details never reach FLOH Solutions at all.
What the guest pass leaves behind
A guest pass records an email address and a one-way hash of the computer it was issued to, Mac or Windows, so that one computer gets one pass. Nothing else is kept. While the pass runs, Decky renews it with the licence service every two days or so, and sends nothing but the pass itself.
After activation, Decky stops talking to anybody
Activating a licence contacts the licence service once, to register that computer. After that it is verified offline against a key inside the app: no periodic check and no phone home, ever.
Key recovery
A request to resend a key is accepted, answered identically whether or not that address has a licence, and the key is mailed only if there is one. The identical answer is the point: it stops the form becoming a way to discover who is a customer.
This website
This site sets one cookie of its own, to remember which language you chose. It also asks whether you allow Google Analytics, which counts visits and shows which pages get read. Google Analytics sets its cookies only if you allow it, and it does not store IP addresses. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and Google receives only a cookieless signal that a page was opened, with nothing that recognises you on a later visit. Your choice is kept in your browser and can be changed at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Your browser also keeps your light or dark theme and, in the guides, whether you read the steps for a Mac or for Windows. Neither is sent to the site. There is no advertising and no ad tracking.
Beta signup
The beta form collects your Google Play email, device models, optional notes and consent to beta contact. FLOH Solutions uses these details to arrange invitations and request testing feedback. Records are kept for up to six months, or removed earlier on request. Cloudflare Turnstile processes browser and network information to prevent automated submissions. The signup service keeps a hashed network identifier for rate limiting for up to 48 hours. Signing up does not create a licence or start a trial.
The connection is not encrypted
Better said plainly than left to assumption. Traffic between your computer and your devices runs over your own USB cable or your own local network and is not encrypted in transit. Anyone able to read that network could read it. Treat it the way you treat other devices on the same network.
Your rights
You can ask what FLOH Solutions holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to info@deckydisplay.com. Deleting a purchase record removes the ability to resend your key, but does not deactivate a licence already on your computers: that licence keeps working offline, because it never needed a server.
Children
Decky is not directed at children and their data is not knowingly collected.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
