Connections & pairing

Pair and manage trusted devices

Tell Decky which devices may use a desktop and control the Mac.

Watch how pairing works

USB and Wi-Fi are two ways to pair. Choose one, then play the example or select a step.

With the devices connected by USB, select your Mac in Decky Display and request pairing.

Step by step

  1. Select the Mac from Decky Display and request pairing. Over USB, confirm Pair on the Mac; no numeric code is needed.
  2. Over the network, enter the eight digits displayed on the Mac into Decky Display. Complete the Allow confirmation on the Mac.
  3. Review remembered devices in Decky Settings β†’ Security. Revoke a device’s trust when it should no longer have access.

What to know

An eight-digit pairing code is different from a six-character Room code. Joining a Room lets a guest watch; it does not make that device a trusted second display. A fourteen-day licence guest pass is a separate thing again.

If it does not work

Use a fresh pairing attempt if the code is rejected. Check the correct Mac, any pending confirmation and the Blocked list in Security. After revoking trust, pair the device again.
