Connect an Android device by USB
Use a data cable for a direct connection, without USB debugging.
Step by step
- Open the full version of Decky on the Mac and install Decky Display on the Android device. Connect the device directly to the Mac with a cable that carries data.
- Unlock the device and accept Android’s accessory-app prompt if it appears. Open Decky Display if it does not open automatically.
- Complete the pairing confirmation on the Mac, then choose Use as display for the device.
What to know
USB debugging and developer options are not needed. Direct USB is a paid feature. Charging depends on the cable, port and device; a charging indicator alone does not prove the data connection works.
If it does not work
Try another data cable and Mac port, with adapters removed for the check. If the device only charges, follow Connection problems. The tested tablet range is still small.
