Step by step
- Confirm the app pair: Decky on the source Mac, Decky Display on the receiving device. Keep both open and awake, and note the error text before retrying.
- For USB, try a known data cable directly in another Mac port. Unlock Android and check its accessory prompt. Charging alone is not a data test.
- For a network connection, check the same local network, Network on in Decky’s Settings → Connection and Let devices find this Mac in Security. Check VPN or guest-network isolation and any custom port on both ends.

What to know
A listed device may be connected without being in use. Complete pairing and choose Use as display. A rejected code or pending approval needs the pairing guide, not a different resolution setting.
A listed device may be connected without showing a picture. Complete pairing, then choose Extend or Mirror for it in Decky’s Devices card.
If it does not work
Restart both apps, then reconnect using one connection type at a time. If it persists, email the device model, OS and app versions, connection type, error and which of these checks changed the result.
