A blank, blurry or slow picture

Separate permission problems from display layout and image-quality settings.

Step by step

  1. For a blank image, check Decky’s Screen Recording permission on the source Mac. Reopen Decky if macOS requests it, then reconnect and check the source selected for Mirror.
  2. For small or blurry text, check Render resolution and Scaling. Native preserves panel detail; scaling changes desktop size. Try a standard HiDPI choice for larger text.
  3. For slow motion or dropouts, lower render resolution and refresh rate. Try H.264 if HEVC behaves poorly, and compare a direct USB connection if available.

What to know

Change one option at a time and repeat the same action. Supersampling adds rendering work; a maximum refresh-rate setting does not guarantee that rate. A misplaced window may be on another desktop rather than missing.

If it does not work

Check Screens and any spare desktop previews for missing windows. If the fault remains, send the chosen mode, resolution, refresh rate, codec, connection type and an example of what triggers it to support.
