Resolution, scaling & refresh rate
Balance desktop space, text size, sharpness and motion.
Step by step
- On Android, open Decky Display Settings → Picture. Render resolution chooses Native or a smaller image. Max refresh rate sets the requested rate.
- On the Mac, use the device’s display controls or Settings → Devices for its picture settings. Use Scaling to choose how much desktop fits on that screen.
- Choose a larger-looking desktop for easier reading, or more desktop space for extra windows. Lower the render resolution or refresh rate if the device struggles.
What to know
Native uses the panel’s pixels. HiDPI draws a smaller logical desktop with more detail. Intermediate scaling can render above panel resolution and scale down, which adds Mac work. Higher rates depend on the panel, Mac, connection and licence; a selected maximum is not a measured frame rate.
If it does not work
Try a lower render resolution and 30 Hz before changing several options together. Use H.264 if the device has trouble with HEVC. The free version is capped at 1920 × 1080 and 30 Hz.
