Getting started
Permissions explained
What to allow on the Mac and when the Android app needs camera or microphone access.
Step by step
- On the Mac, allow Decky to record the screen when prompted. You can review this in System Settings, under Privacy & Security and the screen-recording controls.
- For control of Mac apps, check Decky in Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Follow any macOS instruction to quit and reopen the app after changing permissions.
- On Android, allow camera or microphone access when you use Webcam or Microphone. Review denied permissions in Android Settings → Apps → Decky Display → Permissions.
What to know
Showing a Mac desktop does not itself require the Android camera or microphone. Webcam also needs the Decky camera extension approved on the Mac.
If it does not work
If a permission is enabled but the feature still fails, quit and reopen Decky, then reconnect. Include the permission screen and exact error in a support request if it persists.
