Getting started

Permissions explained

What to allow on the Mac and when the Android app needs camera or microphone access.

Step by step

  1. On the Mac, allow Decky to record the screen when prompted. You can review this in System Settings, under Privacy & Security and the screen-recording controls.
  2. For control of Mac apps, check Decky in Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Follow any macOS instruction to quit and reopen the app after changing permissions.
  3. On Android, allow camera or microphone access when you use Webcam or Microphone. Review denied permissions in Android Settings → Apps → Decky Display → Permissions.

What to know

Showing a Mac desktop does not itself require the Android camera or microphone. Webcam also needs the Decky camera extension approved on the Mac.

If it does not work

If a permission is enabled but the feature still fails, quit and reopen Decky, then reconnect. Include the permission screen and exact error in a support request if it persists.
