Open the floating panel and choose Touch. Natural is already selected by default. Keep the Mac app open while adjusting touch.
Step by step
- Connect an Android display and open an app on it. Open Decky Display’s floating panel and select Touch. Natural is the default; select it here if you previously chose Classic. With a Windows PC, Scrolling on this computer offers Touch everywhere, the default, or Hybrid.
- Tap to click and move one finger to scroll. Move two fingers together to drag, or hold one finger until the ring fills and then move to drag. Tap with two fingers for a right-click menu.
- Tap a text field on the computer to open the device’s keyboard with Keyboard set to Automatic. Choose Manual in Touch if you prefer to open it yourself using the Type here button beside the field.
What to know
A screen and a Controller use different gestures. Natural on the screen scrolls with one finger and drags with two. The Controller’s pad points with one finger and scrolls with two. A Room guest needs permission to control the shared screen.
Clicks, zoom and swipe gestures
Repeated taps send double or triple clicks, for example to select a word or line. A two-finger tap opens a right-click menu. Pinch to zoom and twist to rotate in apps that support those gestures.
Three- and four-finger swipes use the actions you chose in your computer’s touchpad settings: the trackpad settings on a Mac, the touchpad gesture settings in Windows Settings. Decky sends the gesture; the computer decides what it does.
Automatic or Manual keyboard
Automatic opens the keyboard when you tap or click an editable text field on the computer and closes it when you leave the field. Manual shows a Type here button beside the field.
If a linked Controller is typing for this screen, the keyboard stays on that device. Open Touch and choose Use keyboard here to bring it back to the screen.
Tune touch while the screen stays open
In Touch, adjust Scroll speed and Scroll inertia. Hold to drag can be switched off; when it is on, Hold duration offers Short, Normal and Long. Two fingers can still drag without holding. With a Windows PC, Windows decides how far touch keeps scrolling, so Scroll inertia applies only where the mouse wheel scrolls.
The screen has no Pointer speed slider because your finger points directly at the content. These preferences are also available under Touch in Decky Display’s Settings. They are separate from Controller settings.
Use Classic if you prefer
Choose Classic in Touch for the earlier method: one finger drags, two fingers scroll and holding still opens a right-click menu. Switch back to Natural in the same place.
If it does not work
If touch does nothing, check whether this device can control the screen. On a Mac, check Decky’s Accessibility permission; on Windows, check that the PC is unlocked and the app is not running as administrator. If Natural acts like Classic, read the hint in Touch: an older Decky, an unsupported source or Android touch exploration can require Classic. Updating Decky does not require changing your saved preference.
