- Open a drawing app and select a pressure-sensitive brush. Draw with different pressure and tilt to check what the pen and app support. In other apps, Automatic lets the pen scroll like a finger.
- If the pen behaves differently from what you want, open Touch and find Pen in followed by the app’s name. Choose Draws or Scrolls when the choice is available. Use Reset to return that app to automatic behaviour.

- Open a drawing app that uses Windows Ink and pick a pressure-sensitive brush. Draw with different pressure and tilt to check what the pen and app support.
- Choose Natural or Same as touch for the pen if you want it to scroll like a finger. Automatic needs Decky on a Mac.
What to know
Pressure, tilt, hover and eraser input depend on both the pen hardware and the Mac app. A basic capacitive pen cannot supply pressure data it does not measure. The pen’s behaviour can differ from your fingers on the same screen.
Pressure, tilt, hover and eraser depend on the pen hardware and on the app. An app that only uses Wintab must be switched to its Windows Ink mode.
Remember a choice for an app
Automatic draws in drawing apps and scrolls elsewhere. A Draws or Scrolls override is remembered on the Mac for that app and applies across your devices. Reset removes the override. The row names the app whose pen behaviour you are changing.
Automatic and the per-app Draws or Scrolls choice need Decky on a Mac.
Choose a fixed pen style
Same as touch follows your finger setting. Classic draws and drags with pressure and tilt. Natural scrolls like a finger; hold to drag when that option is enabled. With Natural, keep the pen’s button pressed as you touch to right-click.
Choosing a pen style does not change your finger setting. Use Natural for your fingers and Classic for the pen to scroll with your hand and draw with the pen. On a Mac, Automatic for the pen draws in drawing apps and scrolls everywhere else.
If it does not work
If a stroke scrolls instead of drawing, check Pen and the app’s Draws or Scrolls choice before changing brushes. If Automatic is unavailable, update Decky on the Mac. Check Accessibility permission if no pen input reaches the Mac, then compare in another pen-aware app.
If no pen input reaches the PC, check that Windows is unlocked and the app is not running as administrator, then compare in another Windows Ink app.
