Stylus

Pressure, tilt, eraser and hover

Draw on the tablet and the Mac gets a real stylus, not a mouse with a pressure number attached to it. A brush in Photoshop or Procreate behaves the way it would on a drawing tablet, because that is what the Mac has been given.

Pressure and tilt

Press harder and the stroke thickens; lean the pen over and it shades. Both are carried as the values the pen reported, not worked out from how fast you moved.

The eraser end works

Flip the pen and it erases, without remapping anything or telling the app you did.

Hover is real hover

The cursor tracks the pen before it touches the glass, so brush previews and tool feedback work the way they do on a tablet display.

The button on the side is a right-click

Press the barrel button and the menu opens under the nib. No putting the pen down and reaching back for the trackpad.

Alongside touch, not instead of it

Fingers and the pen work at once. Draw with the pen, scroll with two fingers, and neither one confuses the other.

Nothing to set up, app by app

macOS is handed genuine tablet events, so anything that already understands a drawing tablet understands this one. No plug-in, no extra driver, nothing to configure per app.

Try it on your own desk.
